This is Green Eyed Sue, a character created by the very talented artist SJ Tucker. I made this image for a school project. We were supposed to make a band poster for an artist of our choosing, and so I chose SJ Tucker. The resolution on this image is a little on the bad side but I will hopefully be getting a better version of it up soon. Bloody software not cooperating.... In any case, this is one of the first images like this that I have ever made. This isn't the full version of the image. That still needs some tweaking and I just can't ever seem to find the time to do it. But I really enjoyed this project. It was a shit-ton of fun and I am thoroughly pleased with the way it turned out. I'm also addicted to the album on which Sue makes her debut ("Sirens") and encourage anyone reading this to at least give the song samples on SJ's site a listen. Her music is wonderful. It was also fun to experiment with the shading and to use Illustrator. I'd just learned it that semester (fall 2007) and still sometimes have trouble believing that I actually coloured this image. No more coloured pencils for major projects for me, thanks. It also amused me that someone commented of my artistic style, "You could turn that into a comic!" I found that comment so amusing because at the time I had begun planning the re-start of "Sidhe-Vamp" which will hopefully look....something like this. |
