About Me

My high school senior picture. I have a feeling I was one of the only people to ever bring a sword into that studio. Well, I guess we should start by getting all of the boring biographical information out of the way.
Hi, my name is Katt and I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 31st, 1987. I got interested in web design while I was living in Cleveland, Ohio, and, to be perfectly honest, I have no idea why that happened. Before I embarked on my initial website project, “mY hOMe Of FlAme aNd sHaDOw,” I had indeed taken a class in middle school that at one point required me to make a webpage. But I wasn’t terribly interested in it then. Then one day my mom brought home Learning Web Design: A Beginner's Guide to HTML, Graphics, and Beyond, by Jennifer Niederst and I suddenly became obsessed.

I normally don't allow my picture to be taken with my teeth showing. I guess this was an accident maybe? I went on a mission to stick every picture I’d drawn (that I was at least moderately satisfied with) on my website. Then I added my poems and stories. Then I added a whole bunch of other random things. Then at some point I had enough stuff that it was time to change my main index into an intro page and create a slew of subindexes to contain everything in a way that was actually organized and user-friendly.
In high school I realized that my hobby was actually a passion. It became something that I didn’t just enjoy doing, but was addicted to. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else professionally for the rest of my life. So I decided to go to school for web design.
I love my bookcase. It is the epitome of entropic organizaton. I moved back to Indianapolis after I graduated from high school in 2005. Since then I’ve been attending college, taking general courses and several graphics classes, the latter of which has helped my web design skills improve. Access to better graphics software has enabled me to do what I’ve always wanted to do with my site, that being make it “shiny.” I’m very happy with the new things I’ve done with my baby.
And so I continue to work on various projects from my home in northern Indy, where I live with my fiancé and three cats. I’m branching off into entirely new and different areas of web-related geekdom and am incredibly excited to start implementing my devious plans. And the not-so-devious ones, of course... In any case! Keep an eye out for new stories and the occasional new poem, and, every once in a while, a new web project that pops up out of nowhere. One of these years I even intend to re-start “Sidhe-Vamp.” Until more new content is added, I hope you’ll enjoy the current.
Also, I do still have a LiveJournal. It's not linked on the site anymore, as I actually use it for things that I don't want random strangers seeing. I'm mentioning it in case there's someone out there wondering where the link went. And as for the "Guestbook" on DeadJournal....well, I'm hoping to have an actual guest book sometime. Possibly soon. Who knows?
